VICIdial is the most capable open-source dialer there is, and running it yourself is a full-time job. VICIfast exists for the teams who want the platform without the server: provisioned in about forty seconds, patched and monitored by people who do this all day, and still yours to log into as root.
The codebase is stock. That is deliberate. Managed VICIdial vendors who fork the source lock you in — your build stops being VICIdial and starts being theirs, and you cannot leave without a migration. VICIfast runs the unmodified open-source release, so everything you know still applies and nothing traps you.
What sits alongside it is the part stock VICIdial never shipped: AI transcription and call scoring, automated quality auditing, text-to-speech for IVR prompts, two-factor authentication, whitelabeling and a self-serve firewall.
